The Gruenwald family, owners of Country Pumpkins

Our Story

Started by the Gruenwald family, in 2000.

Country Pumpkins in Orland, CA is a local family venture. Located on HWY 32 about 10 miles west of Chico, and 4 miles east of Interstate 5, it is close enough for everyone to enjoy a day at the farm. We are the Gruenwald Family and we started Country Pumpkins in 2000. With the help of our three boys and countless community members, we have been tending and nurturing it ever since. We love providing the community with a fun and unique family friendly adventure. We like to think of ourselves as ‘The Quiet Place in the Country’ where you can enjoy the sights, sounds, and colors of Autumn in a relaxed atmosphere: without the commercialism.

When we started Country Pumpkins, it was in the hopes of giving the community a place to go and enjoy the day with their family. We were a young family just starting out and wanted someplace to visit that wouldn’t break the bank. We hold this vision today and continue to keep it simple and affordable.

As farmers first and foremost, we pride ourselves on our pumpkin field and corn maze. Each year we evaluate our pumpkin crop, talk to our guests, and search for unique pumpkins to insure we are delivering what our guests want. We have seven acres filled with over twenty varieties of pumpkins and gourds, which will lead you on an adventure to find the perfect ones. Our 7 acre maze is designed by the family while sitting around the dinner table. Some years are more creative than others.

We enjoy providing this agriculture experience for you and your family. Welcome to the Country.
